A collaboration project completed alongside Northern Exposure

Cidon Construction | Tone of Voice Guidelines.
I teamed up with creative design company, Northern Exposure to bring new life to Cidon's brand.


The Project 


Cidon, a very prosperous concrete construction company, were expanding. They wanted to bring their ever growing team together, while finding new ways to communicate and connect with both the community and other businesses. They wanted to find their voice and to pinpoint their personality. They wanted to bring new life to their brand. 


I worked alongside talented website and graphic designers Dan and Jack from Northern Exposure, to revamp Cidon's brand, helping them to communicate better both internally and externally as well as allowing them to pin point great things about their company and outlining how these could be used to their advantage.

 

The Process


It was an absolute pleasure to work alongside Northern Exposure on this project. To get a well rounded and thorough understanding of the company, we interviewed key members of staff from each branch and got their take on Cidon's principles, personality, current image, community outreach programmes and more.


Using this research, we pin pointed the personality of the brand, and while Jack and Dan worked on the site and image of Cidon, I built a language tool box around how to communicate their brand authentically. The bulk of the guidelines was split into 4 sections, covering the company's vision for the future, what makes them unique, what their principles were and finally, the personality that all of these elements created. Alongside this I included a glossary of practical language to be used in different scenarios, as well as a 'do's and don't's and a we're this but we're not that, to ensure clarity.


I then came up with example posts for social media, ideas for blog posts and included a section highlighting some tips for creating good content, to ensure that everyone who used them could refer to these guidelines efficiently and have a clear understanding of what was expected when communicating.


This was a really interesting project, that was made all the better by the fact that Cidon are a great company with fantastic ideals and good intentions.
